Incroyable effervescence dans le somptueux temple de Sri Meenakshi bondé de jeunes couples mariés entourés de leur famille.

Je me rends compte que les guides sont organisés en syndicat puissant et défendent mordicus leur bifteck. Un jeune avocat me guide pourtant discrètement dans ce dédale de 6 hectares et me montre sur un bas relief comment les bouddhistes ont été suppliciés pour avoir voulu répandre la parole de Bouddha dans le sud de l'Inde. Il me parle aussi des Gypsy (les Roms ?!) qui sont représentés sur quelques unes des mille colonnes de l'un des temples, Gypsy toujours actifs en Inde, que le gouvernement cherche à sédentariser sans succès.
L'Inde s'infiltre tranquillement dans mes tréfonds, et si je ne comprends pas encore son incroyable complexité, elle a pris dans ses filets tous mes sens...

?une odeur de terre et de procréation sollicitait mes sens pendant qu'avec acharnement le chant du merle me retenait à l'instant, (avec ce même amour qu'ont ces mères qui ne peuvent pas lâcher la main de l'enfant au matin de son premier jour d'école). Le merle ignorait que je savais que le présent produit du futur pour devenir du passé ; et j'enviais son ignorance, qui n'était pas liberté, puisqu'il n'avait à s'affranchir de rien, il n'était même pas merle, puisque c'est moi qui l'affuble de ce nom. Pourquoi ne pas appeler le merle : pomme ? J'entendais chanter la pomme dans l'arbre pendant qu'un cycliste grimpait aux murs d'un théâtre dans lequel une école de percussion donnait un gala. Une femme saignait à la tête avec abondance - je n'y prêtais que peu d'importance - tout occupé à aimer intensément?
